Pav bhaji usually a street food of Mumbai….which tastes awesome, many ingredients go into this which makes it special …
This recipe holds lots of work , a big procedure but once prepared and kept is easy to be served when quests are around or in get togethers or in kitty parties….this recipe tastes awesome tried this recipe from some cookery show, I have combined it with mine and I liked it very much so shared this recipe here..Do try this and enjoy this..



•6 Pav Buns
•5 Tomatoes
•2 medium onions finely chopped
•2 medium capsicum finely chopped
•1 Cup Cauliflowerfinely chopped
•1/2 Cup green peas
•2 Carrot finely chopped
•4 Boiled Potato
•6 byadagi red Chillies
•10 flakes of Garlic

For Tempering

•1 tsp Jeera
•3 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
•1/2 tsp Kasoori Methi
•1/2 tsp Garam Masala
•2 tsp MTR/any other Pav Bhaji Masala
•2 tbsp Butter
•1 tsp salt
•2 tbsp oil
• extra butter for frying pav

For Serving…

•1/4 cup Chopped Onion
•1/4 Cup Chopped Coriander leaves
•1 Lemon cut into wedges(optional )


▪ mash boiled potatoes well
▪Pressure cook cauliflower, peas, carrot and mash well and keep aside.
▪soak red chillies in warm water for about an hour and grind along with garlic to a fine paste.
▪Boil whole tomatoes , remove its skin and make puree/ paste out of it
▪Heat 2 tsp oil in kadai, 1 tsp butter then add onions and fry till onions turns golden brown, now add capsicum fry well , add the chilli garlic paste and fry till water dries and oil starts separating.
▪Now add tomato puree and cook for 5 mins.
▪Now add cooked and mashed vegetables and cover and cook till the vegetables gets blended well with the other ingredients.
▪Now add the mashed potatoes, water as required, salt to taste and cover and boil till done.

For Tempering
(This version is from other blog which I followed and tried and result was awesome)
▪Heat butter in a pan add jeera, when it starts to splutter add kasoori methi, fry till it gives out nice aroma
▪now add tomato ketchup, garam masala, pav bhaji masala, and fry for a min now add 1/2 cup water and boil for sometime…
▪Now add this tempering to the boiled vegetables and cook on low heat for 10-12 mins.

▪Cut the pav into halves, apply butter to the pavs and fry on tawa till golden brown.
▪Now take a plate arrange pavs. Serve the bhaji on the side and garnish it with chopped onion, Coriander leaves, Lemon wedges.
▪delicious pav bhaji is ready to eat..
